Yesterday, Anberlin released a live bootleg audio and video performance to iTunes - $7.99 for the audio and $9.99 for the video. We took a listen to the audio and the mix is certainly rougher in quality than most A-level live recordings, but it's a nice souvenir for Anberlin fans who caught their show last fall and would like to listen to one of the performances any time they'd like to. Here's the iTunes promo text for the video portion of the live performance...
On October 9th of 2010 Anberlin took their high-powered rock show to the House of Blues Anaheim and Live Nation was there to capture it all on camera. Anberlin ripped through a set spanning their career, from the Tooth & Nail albums to their major label albums with Universal Republic. Sure to never disappoint the long time fans who have remained loyal for years, Anberlin played classics like “Dismantle.Repair” and “Paper Thin Hymn”, and then brought the show to a close with the #1 Alternative Rock hit “Feel Good Drag”, and from their newest album “Impossible”. In today's instantly downloadable and quickly consumed culture, bands like Anberlin are a dying breed. Over the course of eight years and five full-lengths (and multiple b-side releases), the band has established themselves as one of alternative rock's most exciting acts and as a band who refuse to limit themselves to one scene or sound... and it's paid off. If the band reinvented themselves with 2007’s sprawling album “Cities” - they've transcended that sound with “ Dark is the Way, Light is a Place”. In fact, this latest album that shows the band reconciling all of their seemingly disparate moods into cohesive blend of music that will lull you to sleep with gentle harmonies one minute and shake you to the core via raw, distortion-drenched rock riffage the next. Don’t miss their first live release now available on iTunes.
And check out the band's announcement to the fans about the release below...
